在里斯本搭乘地鐵非常方便, 每個地鐵站的站內多處都有行車路線表清楚顯示站名稱和轉車站的站名, 而較大的地鐵站例如 Oriente 和 Jardim Zoológico, 由於可接駁火車和巴士, 另有白色底藍色字體的告示牌, 以葡萄牙文 Comboios 和 Terminal Autocarros 分別表示: 火車和巴士總站/客運總站, 而字旁也有圖形，所以就算不懂葡萄牙文都大概能明白文字意思。

The metro system of Lisbon is very user-friendly. Various route signs are installed at each metro station, which show clearly station names of each of the four metro lines and interchange stations. As such metro stations as Oriente and Jardim Zoológico are connected to train and bus terminals, another set of signs (with white background and blue words) written in Portuguese can be seen: “Comboios” and “Terminal Autocarros” mean "Trains" and "Bus terminus" respectively. The figures of a train and a bus next to the words are indeed quite self explanatory.

葡萄牙的電視節目, 當然是以葡萄牙語為主。 但他們電視台有一樣是很好的, 就是, 他們播放外語片時, 會原聲播放, 不會配音, 而會有葡萄牙語字幕。 除了荷里活電影外, 有次我還看到電視播放成龍的電影, 完全是廣東話播放, 很有趣。

TV programmes in Portugal are of course mainly in Portuguese. One good thing about the TV channels in Portugal is that non-Portuguese films that they show are not dubbed. They are aired in original languages and Portuguese subtitles are used instead. Besides Hollywood films, I once watched Jacky Chan speaking Cantonese in a Hong Kong-made film on Portuguese TV.

街頭藝術一直是里斯本藝術的一份子。對我來說, 街頭藝術可不是大家一般所想的塗鴉, 亂塗一遍。就像這幾個巨型的外牆創作, 其實是幾個葡萄牙優秀的街頭藝術工作者, 在一個稱為 "Crono Project" 的藝術項目中, 被委托在里斯本市一個商業區的幾座被棄置的大厦外牆, 創作巨型的精采和充滿活力的藝術畫作。

Urban art has long been a part of Lisbon's culture. It is, to me, different from simply graffiti. Just like this collection of huge facade paintings. In a project called "Crono Project", some of the finest local Portuguese urban artists were commissioned to decorate the facades of some abandoned buildings in a busy business district , turning them into some vibrant creative public art displays.

Try to look for urban art displays in centre Lisbon!

早前一段時間實在忙得很, 所以久久沒有po文, 現在終於有多點時間, 可以又多出來活動一下。 花了很多心機寫以下的一篇介紹, 對葡萄牙充滿熱情的各位, 希望會有耐性把它看完吧, 哈哈!

I have been really tied up recently and thus not been able to write any posts. Glad that I can have more time for myself again - stretching up my arms and feet, LOL, and write more stuff in here. All of you, so passionate for Portugal, I hope you will have the patience to read this post, LOL!

在里斯本旅遊時, 好多朋友由於時間所限, 可能都只夠時間去一些傳統的大景點參觀, 有些地方被忽略了, 但卻是我覺得很值得去看的, 例如我現在想推介的 Casa do Alentejo, 由於我沒有見過有任何中文名稱, 所以暫且替它改一個中文名字叫「阿連特茹公會 / 阿連特茹之家」。

Alentejo (阿連特茹) 其實是葡萄牙一個大省的名稱, 位於葡萄牙的中部和南部, 面積達 27,272平方公里 (整個香港總面積大約是1105平方公里, 所以Alentejo一個省就有差不多25個香港那麼大), 佔整個葡萄牙接近 30%的面積。何解會在里斯本市中心有一個跟「阿連特茹省」有關的建築物呢?

這座原建於17世紀後期的建築物, 其實最初是屬於一個叫 Viscounts of Alverca 的葡萄牙貴族的宮殿, 稱作 “Alverca宮殿” (Palace Alverca)。 在1917-1919年, 部分宮殿被改作賭場, 這也是里斯本市的第一間賭場。到1932年, 建築物經過修繕後, 變成今天大家見到的「阿連特茹公會 / 阿連特茹之家」- 在里斯本工作和生活的阿連特茹省鄉里們閒餘時的一處優美的聚腳地。

Most visitors to Lisbon, due to time constraint, usually can only have time to visit some very general places, but have neglected some other ones which I think worth very much seeing too, for example, Casa do Alentejo, that I'm trying to introduce now.

Alentejo is indeed a big province in the south-central and southern parts of Portugal. Its area is approximately 27,272 square kilometres (which is almost 25 times the actual size of the whole of Hong Kong) - nearly 30% of the whole of Portugal. Why is there a building in centre Lisbon with connections to Alentejo?

Built in the late 17th century, this building where today is called “Casa do Alentejo” indeed initially belonged to an aristocratic family called the Paes Amaral (Viscounts of Alverca). The building was at that time named “Palace Alverca”.

In 1917-1919, a part of the old palace was transformed into a casino - the first casino of Lisbon. Then after some considerable alterations, from 1932 onwards, the building has became "the Alentejo Guild", later called – "Casa do Alentejo" - the headquarters of the Regionalist Alentejo Association - where the people of Alentejo gather, meet and discuss matters concerning their hometown.

從外頭所見, 「阿連特茹之家」不太起眼, 只是一所普通的建築物, 可大家爬過樓梯, 走進宮殿的庭院時, 會被那華麗的摩爾式建築所吸引著。 庭院中有一個小噴泉,  到處都極力保留住一個阿拉伯式的宮殿原有的裝飾 -- 馬蹄狀的拱門, 紫檀家具, 以及以葡萄牙式瓷磚（葡萄牙語稱為“azulejos”）和馬賽克砌成的美麗牆壁和地板, 周圍散發著一股濃厚的摩爾風情。樓上現在是一家富有古典而具氣派裝飾的餐廳, 以及一個小型藝術畫廊。

「阿連特茹之家」確實是在里斯本旅遊時很值得去觀光的地方之一。 :-)

"Casa do Alentejo" looks like a very regular building from the outside with an insignificant façade, but after you enter the building and climb the stairs, you would reach a gorgeous Moorish courtyard with a small fountain. Inside it, it sill preserves the original decoration of an Arab-like palace - with horse-shoe shaped arches, sandalwood furniture, and beautiful tiles (called "azulejos" in Portuguese) and mosaics on the walls and the floor. The surrounding has many Moorish influences. The upper floor now houses a restaurant with grand decorations, and a small art gallery.


"Casa do Alentejo" is a very nice place to visit while being in Lisbon. :-)

日出和日落也會早一小時, 葡萄牙會早一小時就天黑了。

另外, 葡萄牙跟亞洲區四地 香港/中國內地/澳門/台灣, 時差將增加1小時, 至8小時。而葡萄牙跟英國在同一時區, 沒有時差; 跟鄰國西班牙則有1小時的時差。
夏令時間會在明年2016年3月27日再開始。

葡萄牙的咖啡, 種類很多, 便宜又好喝。 雖然國內也有一些 Starbucks, 但那只是美式產品。傳統的小咖啡室, 他們的咖啡地道好喝, 而且價格實惠得多。

There are many types of Portuguese coffee, which are tasty and very affordable. Yep, there are Starbucks coffee shops in the country, but that is an American product. You should really go and enjoy some good coffee brewed at a traditional café.

地鐵和火車站的閘口內或大堂裡的咖啡店, 以及在公路上的餐廳等, 很多都有供應 "menu pastel de nata + café", 也即是「葡式蛋塔配濃咖啡餐」, 價錢只是大約1歐元。平常一杯濃咖啡反正都要 0.5 - 0.70歐元左右, 一個葡式蛋塔也要1歐元, 所以這種餐確是超值。有些店更容許將 café (葡萄牙式濃咖啡, 跟意大利espresso差不多), 轉做別種類的咖啡, 例如 galão (跟意大利的 caffè latte 差不多)。

除了「葡式蛋塔配濃咖啡餐」, 有時也有多種不同餐供選擇, 可以多點留意。

留意: Pastel de nata (蛋塔) 的複數是 Pastéis de Nata

In many places, including inside or in the lobby areas of metro and

train stations, and in restaurants on the highway, one can often see "menu pastel de nata + café" being offered. "Menu Pastel de nata + Café" is actually Portuguese egg tart with Café set meal. The price is usually about 1€.

A cup of café (similar to an Italian espresso) is usually 0.5€ - 0.70€; and Portuguese egg tarts are normally about 1€ each. So a "Menu Pastel de nata + Café" set meal is well worth the money.

Besides the "Menu Pastel de nata + Café", other special set meals may be offered too. Just check at each individual café.

上回談到, 我最近去了一趟 Berlenga 大島遊玩, 由於去大島的船都是由 Peniche 出發, 而出發時間大多數是在早上 (最早一班, 如果夠乘客的話, 起航時間會是早上9點, 之後大概每隔半小時或1小時有船, 直到中午12時)。 所以除非您能一大清晨到達 Peniche, 再走到碼頭買船票, 否則就來不切搭船。我不想太趕, 而且也想了解清楚賣船票情況 (注意: 夏天旺季, 有可能買不到當天船票的), 所以安全起見, 在 Peniche 住宿一晚, 順便也遊遊 Peniche。

I said in my last post that I recently visited Berlenga Island. Ferries and boats to Berlenga Island all depart from Peniche, and departure times are mostly in the mornings, starting from 9am (in 30-minute or one-hour intervals until midday), so IF you can arrive in Peniche early in the morning and reach the pier to buy ferry or boat tickets and get aboard on that day, that's perfect. However, note that during the peak season (in the summer months), you may have to buy tickets one or even two days in advance. That would mean that you'll have to stay in Peniche for a night or so. So, I chose to stay one night in Peniche, sightsee the town and check the availability of the ferry tickets.

這間旅店，老闆娘不是全天在旅館內, 不過也不要緊, 她住在附近, 到達時給她打一個電話, 大約5分鐘左右她就到達 (形式就有點像我以前去意大利著名的五漁村小鎮 Cinque Terre 住宿差不多)。我是住獨立房間, 有衛浴, wifi接收得很好，房間還有電視，很不錯。我是在 booking.com 訂房間的，不過大家 可直接跟老闆娘電郵訂房，可能價格會優惠一點也說不定。:-)

The hostess doesn't stay at the residencial all the time so you may have to give her a ring when you arrive at the residencial. Her phone number is wriiten at the entrance of her residencial and she lives nearby so she normally comes right away (the style of accommodation is similar to that in Cinque Terre in Italy). I stayed in an ensuite room, equipped with tv and good wifi. I booked this residencial via booking.com but you can book with her directly in email. She probably could offer you a better price than onbooking.com. smile emoticon

大概不少朋友會認為, 到動物園只是小朋友和一家大小遊樂的地方。它實在可也是一個帶給「大朋友」無比樂趣之地。

For many people, a zoo may just be a day for small kids and families. It's indeed such a fun and interesting place for people of all ages!

里斯本動物園是里斯本市裡其中一個我覺得很好玩的景點。能夠近距離接近各種我平常很少見得到的動物: 從鵜鶘鳥到班馬, 由黑猩猩和犀牛, 到罕見的白老虎和黑熊; 還有精彩的海豚及海獅表演, 和動物園提供的各類活動。走倦了, 像我一樣, 坐架空纜車從高空鳥瞰動物園和各種動物; 或坐小火車環遊動物園一圈。

一個放鬆、接近大自然世界（而實際上我是身在里斯本市中心!) 的一天, 太棒! 順便說句, 里斯本動物園歷史悠久, 成立於1884年, 已經開放超過130年了!

Lisbon Zoo is one of the very entertaining places that I have visited in Lisbon. Being close to a wide variety of species of animals that I rarely see: from pelicans to zebras, from chimpanzees and rhino, to rare white tigers and black bears. There are the exciting dolphin and sea lion shows, and other activities too that the zoo offers. If you get tired, take a ride in the cable car for great aerial views of the zoo and animals; or a fun train ride around the zoo as I did.

A relaxing and pleasant day out near the natural world (while indeed I was in the city centre of Lisbon)! How fantastic!

By the way, Lisbon Zoo was founded in 1884. That means it has been open for more than 130 years! smile emoticon

If you're currently staying in Lisbon and are a big fan of super football player Cristiano Ronaldo, you wouldn't want to miss this activity - pay a visit to the <CR7 Travelling Museum> which is currently taken place in city centre Lisbon.

<CR7博物館> 永久展館是設在他家鄉馬德拉島首府Funchal (豐沙爾)，至於 <CR7 Travelling Museum> 則是新的元素，在各地巡迴展覽，除了介紹C朗拿度的成長和足球發展事業之外，又展覽部分珍貴收藏。里斯本已是 <CR7 Travelling Museum> 的第二站，據說之後還會到上海展覽。

<CR7 Museu> is located in Ronaldo's hometown Funchal, Madeira Island. This <CR7 Travelling Museum> is a new element. Besides telling the story of Ronaldo from his birth to the present day, many precious items, including some major trophies, and his boots and jerseys are in exhibition too.


今天參觀時有機會跟職員聊天，我就跟他們說，如果巡迴展到澳門和香港的話，應該會有很多球迷去參觀，希望他們考慮一下我們廣大澳門和香港球迷啦。:-)

I had the opportunity to have a small chat with some staff members at the museum today, and told them that the <CR7 Travelling Museum> could draw hugh amount of visitors if it would be held in Macau and Hong Kong too. I hope they can consider this suggestion. smile emoticon

之前介紹了 Berlenga 大島的美麗風景, 與及在 Peniche (佩切尼) 的住宿事宜後, 最後是談談如何購買船票到大島。

I have given an introduction of the Berlenga Island and briefly mentioned accommodation in my previous posts. Now, I'd like to talk about how to buy ferry/boat tickets to the Island.

Berlenga 島的葡萄牙文名稱是 "Ilha da Berlenga" ("Ilha" 是 "島" 的意思), 在Peniche 的碼頭 (沿海邊行到盡頭, 附近是旅遊重點 Fortaleza de Penich

e (佩尼切堡壘), 設立有8個玻璃亭, 由不同公司營運, 售賣來往佩切尼和 Berlenga 島之間航行的輪船及快艇船票, 以及報名參加浮潛活動。可以向裡邊的職員查詢當天或隔天的船期和訂票情況, 由於是旅遊區, 因此他們都會說英語。

"Ilha da Berlenga" is Berlenga Island in Portuguese. At the Peniche harbour (walk straight up the seaside till you almost see "Fortaleza de Peniche" - a major tourist attraction in Peniche), there are 8 glass booths there (operated by different companies) selling ferry and boat tickets between Peniche and the Island, and signing up for snorkelling activities. You may check ticket availability and ask for other information regarding travelling to the Island. As it's a tourist zone, the staff there can speak English.

注意, 到 Berlenga 島的船, 絕大部分只在春至秋季 (大約5月中到10月左右) 航行, 其餘時間因海面風浪太大停駛的。Viamar 船公司的是大船, 另外有船公司開快船, 來回費用大約20-22歐元/位。

Note that both ferries and boats to Berlenga Island mostly only operate from Spring to fall (roughly between mid-May and October). Service suspended in the rest of the year due to weather conditions. Most passengers use boats operated by the company called Viamar; and there are two other companies which operate faster boats. Round trip is about 20-22 euro/person.

好久以前在網上見過幾張 Berlenga Island 的 Fort of São João Baptista (聖約翰堡壘) 的照片, 令我一直都很想到這個島旅遊, 直到最近, 終於能成行。

Berlenga 大島沒有令我失望, 它真是非常美麗、優美宜人。我極度推薦。:-)

I have been thinking about visiting Berlenga Island since I saw some photos of Fort of São João Baptista (Saint John Fort) long time ago. I'm so glad that I finally made the trip recently.

The visit to Berlenga Island is worth the time and effort. It is so beautiful and pleasant. I highly recommend a visit to the Berlenga Island when you're in Portugal.

交通:
要來 Berlenga 大島遊玩, 最通常的做法, 是先搭車去沿海城市 Peniche (佩尼切, 著名的沖浪勝地) 再搭船到 Berlenga 大島。從里斯本搭巴士到 Peniche, 車程大概一個半小時 (去此城和 Berlenga大島的攻略以及住宿, 我會稍後再談)。

Transportation:
The most common way to Berlenga Island is to go via a coastal town called Peniche - famous for surfing - take a ferry from Peniche to Berlenga Island. Coaches from Lisbon to Peniche is roughly 1.5 hours one way (guide to Peniche and Berlenga Island, and accommodation in Peniche will be coming up soon).

背景:
Berlenga 大島被葡萄牙政府列為自然保護區, 您在島上, 會見到很多各種的海鳥, 包括海鷗、鸕鶿, 以及整個島都聽到牠們的叫聲。

Background:
Berlanga Island has been declared a natural reserve, and you can see different kinds of sea birds on the island, including seagulls and cormorants; and can hear them making all sorts of sounds all over the island.

島上遊玩:
從 Peniche 一天即日往返遊是多數旅客選擇的方法, 由於夏天天氣和風景一流, 不少人會在島上住宿或露營。注意: 秋季開始, 由於風大海浪也大十分危險, 因此沒有船會從佩尼切 (Peniche) 來 Berlenga 大島的。

小島不大, 半天遊大概都足夠遊走欣賞島上所有景點。島上的海灘, 海水非常晶瑩清徹, 另有不少奇岩洞穴和堡礁, 因此島上有乘船遊覽洞穴, 費用只需5歐元。

記緊一定要花點時間去走它的那條自然步道, 沿途風景秀麗, 會先見到一個燈塔, 再走一小段路, 就是著名的古老堡壘「聖約翰堡壘」 (堡壘現在部分已改成為一青年旅舍) 。

Visit on the Island:
Most travellers come to the Berlenga Island on a same day round trip, departing from Peniche. Weather and scenery is superb during the summer months, and so quite many people would lodge or go camping on the island for a few days. Note: travelling to Berlenga Island after October will be impossible due to strong wind and big waves on the sea. No ferries go to Berlenga Island between November and April.

Berlenga Island is small and therefore a half-day tour is more or less enough to see the major attractions on the island. The beaches are beautiful with crystal clear waters. There are barrier reefs and various caves, so try to take a boat trip. It's very affordable, just 5 euros for a trip of about 45 minutes.

Be sure to also spare time for a walk on the natural trail. The scenery will reward you. You will first see a lighthouse. Walk further and you will then reach the famous ancient fortress called "St. John Fort" (Forta de São João Baptista) (part of the fort has been converted into a youth hostel).
